The invention can be used for electrical equipment for internal combustion engines in the form of means influencing an air-fuel mixture in order to improve performance characteristics of the engine and can be used for motor cars, aircrafts etc. The inventive spark plug for an internal combustion engine comprises a body, an insulator fixed thereto, a main stick electrode which is fixed in the central hole of the insulator in such a way that the working end thereof projecting from the insulator end is provided with an elongated part equal to two-three times of the main electrode diameter and communicated with the combustion chamber of the engine cylinder through a spark plug gap between the surface of the central hole embodied in the bottom of a cylindrical electrode and the side surface of the working end of the main electrode. Said invention makes it possible to increase the operating efficiency of the spark plug (increasing the fuel economy of the engine, burning noxious agents) and to improve the performance characteristics of the spark plug (no need to adjust the spark gap, to clean electrodes, the service life of the spark plug is increased by several times in comparison with a standard service life). |
