FIELD: plastic working of metals, possibly free forging of blanks such as ingots by means of flat strikers in hydraulic forging presses, forging hammers, forging machines. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding blank in pair of flat strikers and reducing it due to realizing single reducing operations of its parts by two passes. At first pass single reduction of each part of blank is realized while orienting blank by inclination angle relative to forging axis. At second pass before reducing each part of blank, position of blank axis is changed due to placing it in position symmetrical to its position of first pass relative to forging axis. ^ EFFECT: enhanced quality of metal of forging, conversion of dendrite large-grain structure to small-grain one, minimal anisotropy of mechanical properties at low factor of forging reduction ratio, increased efficiency, lowered number of metal heating steps at forging. ^ 4 cl, 8 dwg, 3 ex |
