PURPOSE: An optical disk and a file information recording method of the optical disk are provided to suggest a method for recording file information including various link information, and to easily carry out forward/reverse searching processes among each file or within the files, thereby reducing a random access time. CONSTITUTION: File information is recorded by being distinguished into file recorders for recording file attributes and disk area recorders having position information on data recorded within a disk by interworking with the file recorders. PL(Previous Link) information and NL(Next Link) information are recorded within the file information. The disk area recorders have position information on a previous disk area recorder and a next disk area recorder. The file recorders have position information on a previous file recorder and a next file recorder.
