PURPOSE: A connector is provided to obtain excellent transmission characteristic and excellent EMI suppression characteristic for a high frequency signal and a high speed signal by removing a noise source from a shield contact. CONSTITUTION: A connector includes a first signal contact(31) of a conductive type, a conductive shield contact(33), and a housing retaining the first signal contact and the shield contact. The shield contact includes retaining portions(31a,32a,33a) retained by the housing, and contact portions(31b,32b,33b) extended from the retaining portions to contact a matching object. The shield contact further includes a shielding portion(33c) extended from the retaining portions to partially cover the first signal contact, and terminal portions(31d,32d,33d) extended from the shielding portion to connect with the ground. |
