FIELD: biochemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing conjugate of naturally occurring or recombinant urate oxidase (uricase) bound covalently with poly-(ethylene glycol) or poly-(ethylene oxide) (both are designated as PEG) wherein in average from 4 to 10 PEG strands are conjugated with each subunit of uricase and molecular mass of PEG is about between 20 and 40 kDa.
