PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of performing a treatment excellently by selecting a bending radius in the treatment with an inverted view. SOLUTION: The endoscope has an insertion part 2 comprising a bending part 12 to be bent in a plurality of directions and a distal end part 11 on the distal end side of the bending part 12 with an objective optical system 26 and a treatment instrument insertion channel 29. The bending part 12 is structured so that the treatment instrument insertion channel 29 is disposed in the outer peripheral direction from the objective optical system 26 at least in one direction of bending among the plurality of directions where the length of the bending is shorter than in the other directions. Accordingly, as the treatment instrument insertion channel 29 is close to a target section and the objective optical system 26 is apart from the target section, the distal end side of a treatment instrument projecting from an opening 29 of the treatment instrument insertion channel 29 can easily reach a target section to facilitate the treatment, and an endoscopic image around the target section can be obtained form the bird's-eye view without being hindered by the treatment instrument.
