<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the distance between an image carrier and a proximate member such as a developing roller can be made constant at the both ends and the center of the image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has the cylindrical image carrier 1, supporting members 11 provided on both sides of the image carrier, 1st abutting surfaces 15a formed on positioning members 15 attached to the supporting members and regulating a distance from the image carrier, 2nd abutting surfaces 14a extended in a direction crossing with the abutting surfaces 15a, the developing roller 42 as the proximate member arranged proximately to the image carrier, and guide members 421 provided at the both ends of the proximate member. By bringing the guide members 421 into contact with both of the 1st and the 2nd abutting surfaces 15a and 14a simultaneously, the image carrier 1 and the developing roller 42 are positioned. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
