<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and low cost developing device in which neither concentration sensor nor toner supply mechanism is required and, while keeping development quality good, secure development is carried out at continuous output of high-density images and, moreover, a running cost is suppressed by realizing a long life. <P>SOLUTION: In the developing device, a toner storing section 5 is provided through a toner supply path 6 in a developer storing section 4 adjacent to a developer carrier 3, a space between the toner storing section 5 and the developer storing section 4 is partitioned by a partition member 12. A developer retreating section 7 in which a detour 8 communicated at least to the developer storing section 4 is formed, and a developer separation means 9 for holding up surplus developer on the developer carrier 3 and for separating the surplus developer to the developer storing section 4 or the developer retreating section 7 according to toner concentration, are provided. In the developer carrier 3 side of an inclined face 15 of the partition member 12, a projection section 16 which projects upper than a horizontal plane H<SB>0</SB>passing the nearest point P<SB>0</SB>to the developer carrier 3 in the partition member 12, is formed along the axial direction of the developer carrier 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
