<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic fare adjusting apparatus that makes it possible to safely and easily perform a variety of maintenance processes without opening the door of an apparatus body holding a safe with cash such as sale proceeds and change in it, nor using a key or the like inconvenient from a maintenance standpoint, and that enables regulations such that only a specific attendant or manager permitted to operate the apparatus is allowed to operate it for each maintenance process. <P>SOLUTION: A maintenance input device 17 for inputting and setting maintenance permission information for enabling the variety of maintenance processes is provided inside or apart from the apparatus body 1 that is difficult to operate from the outside.
