<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing ε-caprolactam in a high conversion rate and high selectivity by using a reaction apparatus (1) installed with a multiporous gas dispersion plate (2) having large numbers of pores (21) and a catalyst layer (3) comprising solid catalyst particles (31) packed on the multiporous gas dispersion plate (2), feeding a raw material gas (A) containing cyclohexanone oxime through the pores (21) of the multiporous gas dispersion plate (2) to make the raw material gas (A) contact with the solid catalyst particles (31) with bringing the catalyst layer (3) to be in a fluidized state. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing ε-caprolactam is to use the multiporous gas dispersion plate with the pores(21) having ≤3 mm average diameter (d21). For example, the solid catalyst particles (31) are MFI zeolite particles and ≥90 mass% solid catalyst particles have 10-100 μm particle sizes.
