PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which can form images without density irregularities by suppressing a temperature rise of the whole of a recording head, thereby preventing ink discharge failures, and by reducing unevenness of an ink discharge quantity due to a discharge state difference of nozzles, and to provide an inkjet recording method. SOLUTION: A count value of a counter present in a recording data generating circuit is incremented every time a printing data clock signal is inputted. The presence or absence of discharging for each nozzle is counted from this count value and a serial printing data signal, which is made temperature control data (TIDATA) in a discharge history circuit. After each process is repeated by an amount of one page, the temperature control data (TIDATA) is sent to a data selecting circuit. The data selecting circuit applies a heat pulse for non printing to only non discharge nozzles when a SELECT signal is in an on state, and thereby heats the non discharge nozzles.
