PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upright vacuum cleaner in which a cleaner body is made detachable and the stability of a standing state by the cleaner body alone is increased. SOLUTION: The cleaner body 1 provided with a motor-driven blower and a dust collecting part 12 and a hose 2 communicating with the dust collecting part 12 are detachably attached to a stick part 3 provided with a suction tool 31 for a floor and a handle 32 for an operation, and a handle 14 for holding the cleaner body 1 is provided on the upper side of the cleaner body 1. In a state where the cleaner body 1 is detached from the stick part 3, it is made possible to stand alone by utilizing an attaching/detaching mechanism (rib 17) formed on the lower side of the cleaner body 1 in addition to the bottom part of the cleaner body 1 or the dust collecting part 12.
