<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configuring a security system with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus 6 is provided with an HDD 16 (storage part) electrically connected to a plurality of pieces of terminal equipment 1 for storing one or more image data transmitted from the pieces of terminal equipment 1. When the image data are stored in the HDD 16, information associated with the image data and the password of the terminal equipment are encrypted so that an encrypted file (encrypted information) 21 and decoded information(encrypted information) 22 can be prepared, and the encrypted file 21 is returned to the terminal equipment 1 at the transmission origin.
