<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a game machine capable of displaying patterns full of changes by utilizing a dot matrix display machine. <P>SOLUTION: The display device (1) is provided with the dot matrix display machine (2), a transmission plate (4) disposed so as to be viewed overlapped with the dot matrix display machine from the view point of a player, an LED (6) for making light be incident on the transmission plate, and a prescribed control means. On the front face of the transmission plate (4), a plurality of recessed parts (47) for diffusing the light from the LED (6) made incident through an end face are formed. On the end face (45) of the transmission plate, a light shielding member (49) for shielding the radiation to the outer side of the transmission plate of the light made incident from the LED (6) is provided.
