PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a center tube which can respond to different diameters and lengths required for a variety of filters while permitting the flow of a fluid. SOLUTION: A filter 10 for a fluid system includes a center tube assembly 35 comprising a housing 12 having an interior cavity 20, a filter medium 24, disposed in the interior cavity and defining a central opening 27, and a first and second discs 36 which are arranged within the central opening and stacked upon one another.
