PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel in which a gear ring for turning a cam cylinder smoothly operates for a long time. SOLUTION: In the lens barrel 36, slide sheets 200 are interposed between a pressing ring 88 and the gear ring 66. The uppermost slide sheet 200 is pressed to the underside of the gear ring 66 with the pressing force of a spring washer 212. The slide sheets 200 are mounted between the pressing ring 88 and the gear ring 66 so as to be removable along cuts 208 made in them. When the uppermost slide sheet 200 pressed to the underside of the gear ring 66 wears or wears out, the tongue 206 of the uppermost slide sheet 200 is pulled to tear the uppermost slide sheet along the cut 208, and the slide sheet 200 is thus removed from the lens barrel 36. As a result, the fresh slide sheet 200 is exposed and brought into contact with the gear ring 66. Accordingly, the slidability of the gear ring 66 returns to its original satisfactory state.
