Hermetically seated compressor comprising a unit (11) constituted by an electric motor and a reciprocating-piston compressor. The unit (11) is mounted within a casing (10) and is supported by elastic means (12). These elastic means (12) are formed by a plurality of compression springs, whose elastic body is in turn constituted by a plurality of stranded wires (13) twisted around the middle axis of said body. This solution is effective in improving the damping coefficient, while reducing the noise generated by the compressor during operation.
