The solar module assembly (10) has a square housing. It incorporates a solar cell (100). A clamping strip is fastened to the spokes of the bicycle wheel (13) approximately half-way between the hub and the rim. The solar module housing contains electronic control circuits and a battery. One or two lamps (12) are fastened to the housing. They may be rod-shaped, and incorporate LED's.
