PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head cleaning device of an ink-jet printer which can mechanically remove ink, dust and the like adhered to a nozzle arrangement face of a printing head of a multi nozzle type having as many as several hundreds of nozzles arranged in a longitudinal array. SOLUTION: The head cleaning device 1 is configured to wipe the nozzle arrangement face 10 of the printing head H of the ink-jet printer equipped with the printing head H. The printing head H is fixedly set at a position opposed to a travelling object to be printed, and has many nozzles N arranged in the longitudinal array for printing by jetting ink droplets to the object. In the head cleaning device 1, there are set a wiper blade 4 which is stationed along a nozzle array direction and slides in contact with the nozzle arrangement face 10, and a wiper driving part F which drives the wiper blade 4 in a direction to intersect the nozzle array direction.
