The method for operating of a lift system entails recording at least one operating parameter (1.2) to determine a nominal output (1.1) through simulation of the operation of the lift system and/or through calculation. The lift system is operated by the operating parameter, and at least one actual output (4.1) produced by the lift system is measured and then compared with the nominal output. The operating parameter and nominal output are recorded in a log (2.1) in the form of an electronic file and/or hard copy, and a guaranteed value of the nominal output of the lift system is determined. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a log for the operating of a lift system; and (b) a guaranteed value for the nominal output of the operation of a lift system.
