<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail joint structure which effectively accommodates differences in cross sectional shapes of handrails or sizes of cross sections from each other at every construction site, flexibly connects the two handrails even if the handrails to be connected together have different cross sectional shapes and different cross sectional sizes or locations of the handrails are deviated from each other, is free from formation of recesses etc. at a joint portion, good in finishing accuracy and appearance at the joint portion, easily connectable, does not require the skilled labor of a workman, and inexpensively producible, and to provide a handrail connecting method. <P>SOLUTION: The handrail joint structure connects between end faces of the handrails arranged inside a building. Specifically the end faces of the respective handrails are inserted from both edges of a shrinkable connector having flexibility, and by using the shrinkage force of the connector, both the handrails are connected together, to thereby form a continuous handrail. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
