PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless location tracking method and a wireless location tracking apparatus which attaion a location tracking precisely by a more simplified and inexpensive system. SOLUTION: In a location tracking system 10, which searches the direction of a mobile communication terminal 12, a mobile communication terminal 12a by the same cells calls the mobile communication terminal 12 to be assumed to be located within the same cell, and the mobile communication terminal 12 transmits radio waves to a base station 16 in response to this call. The radio waves transmitted from this mobile communication terminal 12 to the base station are received on a control channel or an information channel by a DOA detector 14, the frequency that the mobile communication terminal 12 uses, is discriminated and the DOA detector 14 then detects or discriminates the direction wherein the transmitted radio waves come. With this method, it is not necessary to change a public radio infrastructure or the like, so that the direction of the target mobile communication terminal can be detected by the simple and inexpensive system.
