PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake pad shim mounting structure in which a bonding force or a restraint force of a shim and a brake pad is hardly lowered. SOLUTION: For example, a projection 4 of a back metal 2 is used as a locking portion. An opening 6, in which the projection 4 is inserted, is set in an engaging portion 5 formed at a shim 1. A regulation portion 7 at the opposite side to the shim 1 of the opening 6 in which the projection is inserted is brought in contact with the surface of the brake pad 3 side of the projection 4, that is, a surface at the opposite side to the shim 1 to regulate the deformation of the engaging portion 5 itself owing to brake torque.
