PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superfine polyester multifilament which has more excellent heat resistance and Uster irregularity than those of conventional superfine polyester multifilaments. SOLUTION: This superfine polyester multifilament produced in the presence of a catalyst consisting mainly of a titanium compound (excluding titanium dioxide particles) and having a single filament fineness of≤1.5 dtex comprises a polyester characterized by containing the titanium compound in an amount of 0.5 to 150 ppm converted into titanium atom on the basis of the polyester, a phosphorus compound in an amount of 0.1 to 400 ppm converted into phosphorus atom on the basis of the polyester, and not containing an antimony compound or containing the antimony compound in an amount of≤30 ppm converted into antimony atom on the basis of the polyester.
