CELLULAR COMMUNICATION METHOD

The aim of said invention is to increase the efficiency of a cellular communication network. The inventive method consists in pre-entering an electronic file, which contains fragments of a digital local geographic map with the co-ordinates and characteristics of base stations arranged in cells and the geographic co-ordinates of said cell boundaries, into a cellular communication network control centre, in determining location data of a corresponding mobile station during a radio communication with the aid of a satellite positioning system receiver which is incorporated into said mobile station and in transmitting said data to the cellular communication network control centre through the base station. The file containing the fragments of the digital local geographic map with the co-ordinates and characteristics of the base station of a cell wherein said mobile station is located and of the adjacent cells with the boundary co-ordinates thereof is transmitted from the cellular communication network control centre through a corresponding base station to the mobile station wherein the comparison of the current data of the location of said station with the cell boundary co-ordinates is carried out.
