The locking device has a spring fitted in a cutout (18) of a pawl (15), in which there is a gap (16), open in the direction of travel. The spring presses the pawl into the locked or unlocked position, and when the locking bolt (10) moves in, the bolt comes against a first sliding surface (30) of the pawl, and thus partly opens it. The spring then opens the pawl completely.
