PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint structure having very easy construction by dispensing with end working of a ridge direction of a lateral roofing external facing material, and to provide a joint method. SOLUTION: In the joint structure of the lateral roofing external facing material 1 comprising a face plate part 11, an eaves side forming part 12 and a ridge side forming part 13, a jointing material 3 having a projection in a substantial center is fixed on a disposal plate 2, and side edge parts of the external facing materials 1 and 1 adjacent to the ridge direction are arranged so that ends of the external facing material 1 gets into contact with the side wall of a projection 31 of the jointing material 3.
