PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of obtaining an image signal on which the revision of the setting of a signal processing operation is correctly reflected when frames are summed to vary the frame rate. SOLUTION: A pre-process section 14 uses an image signal DVa generated by imaging an object to carry out signal processing operations. A frame summing processing section 15 sums frames of an image signal DVb obtained through the signal processing operation by the pre-process section 14 to generate an image signal DVc whose frame rate is varied. When the signal processing operation of the pre-process section 14 is revised, the signal processing operation is revised in the unit of a frame summing period by a frame summing processing section 15 on the basis of a discrimination signal TW denoting the frame summing period.
