<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce electric power consumption in partial driving is performed, in a display device constituted with pixels and a signal line driving circuit by using semi-amorphous TFTs. <P>SOLUTION: The scan line driving circuit includes a shift register, a latch circuit, first and second switch circuits and a buffer circuit. The presence or absence of driving transferred from the shift register in the state of keeping the first switch held closed to the latch circuit side is memorized in the latch circuit and the output of the buffer circuit is controlled by opening and closing the second switch based on the memorized data. The connection of the first switch circuit is changed over to the buffer circuit side and a start pulse and a clock are inputted to the shift register to operate the same, by which only the necessary gate line is driven through the buffer circuit controlled with the second switch and the driving of the unnecessary gate line is stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
