COATING LIQUID FOR FORMING POLARIZATION SELECTIVE REFLECTION LAYER, PROJECTION SCREEN USING THE SAME, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PROJECTION SCREEN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for formation of a polarization selective reflection layer so as to form a polarization selective reflection layer having an excellent polarization separation function and diffusion reflectivity to be used for a projection screen, and to provide a projection screen which can be used in a bright environment and having high lightness.

SOLUTION: The coating liquid for formation of a polarization selective reflection layer is to be used to form a polarization selective reflection layer for a projection screen comprising a substrate and a polarization selective reflection layer formed on the substrate and having a cholesteric liquid crystal structure which selectively reflects light of a specified polarization component. The coating liquid for formation of the polarization selective reflection layer contains a polymerizable liquid crystal material having cholesteric regularity to form the cholesteric liquid crystal structure, and a leveling agent. The leveling agent is included in an amount to structurally inhomogeneously form the cholesteric liquid crystal structure so as to diffuse the projected light separated from the polarized light.
