PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible display which can be sealed in a short time and which has high airtight property and high reliability. SOLUTION: A sealing auxiliary member 5, which is a light-absorbing plastic and is colored by a laser absorbing colorant, has a shape like a frame along the periphery parts of an upper film 1 and a lower film 2, and is provided with a connection terminal 5a for electrically connecting an electrode part inside the panel and a circuit board outside the panel. An irradiation laser beam is transmitted through the light transmissive lower film 2 and is absorbed by the sealing auxiliary member 5 so as to be transformed into thermal energy, and the side of the lower film 2 is also heated, thereby forming a molten part 16a. The overall circumference of the periphery part of the lower film 2 is irradiated with the laser beam from the side of the upper film 1, and the upper film 1 and the sealing auxiliary member 5 are welded, thereby forming a molten part 16b. Black particles 3 and white particles 4 are sealed airtightly inside the panel by the molten part 16 thus formed, and the panel is completed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
