PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refuse collecting device for a road sweeper, which has a single pickup head and efficiently carries out cleaning of a shoulder side and a median side of a road. SOLUTION: The refuse collecting device for the road sweeper functions to sweep the median strip side of the road by blocking a shoulder-side suction duct 9a and grounding the pickup head 10. Refuse present on the median strip side is swept toward the inside in a vehicle width direction by a median side brush 4, and guided by a median side deflector so as not to fly in a shoulder direction, followed by being introduced into the interior of a suction chamber 17 at a median side edge of the pickup head 10. Further the refuse is blown up by airflow blown from a spray nozzle to the suction chamber 17, and then collected from a suction duct 9b into a hopper 7. Thus the refuse on the median strip side and introduced into the suction chamber 17 is located very closely to the suction duct 9b on the median side, and therefore the refuse on the median side is efficiently sucked into the suction duct 9b.
