<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing control so that temperature rise caused by overshoot occurring upon a power supply being off is not regarded as abnormality. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a fixing roller 23 incorporating heaters 21 and 22, and temperature detection means 27 and 28 detecting the temperature of a fixing part including the surface of the fixing roller, and performs disposal for abnormality when judging that the detected temperature of the fixing part is equal to or higher than previously set abnormality detection temperature.
