<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyelectrolyte composite membrane of high power generating performance, its manufacturing method and its use. <P>SOLUTION: [1] As for the polyelectrolyte composite membrane having a polyelectrolyte composite layer in which polyelectrolyte composed of a hydrophobic part and a hydrophilic part is filled into a porous base material having minute pores, the polyelectrolyte forms a phase-separated structure of the hydrophobic part and the hydrophilic part in a solid state, and it fulfills a formula (1): a+b≤d. In the formula, a expresses the size (nm) of the hydrophobic domain in the phase-separated structure, b does the size (nm) of the hydrophilic domain, and d does the average pore diameter (nm) of the minute pores of the porous base material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
