摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geometric arithmetic unit capable of shortening the transfer time of intermediate data and performing a geometric operation at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: Data necessary for geometric operation are transferred from an input memory 10 to an integer arithmetic memory 11 and floating-point arithmetic memories 12 and 13. An integer arithmetic unit 15 operates independently from floating-point arithmetic units 16 and 17, and performs an integer operation to the data transferred to the integer arithmetic memory 11. An integer arithmetic work memory 21 is not directly accessible from the integer arithmetic unit 15, and retains the intermediate data of the integer arithmetic unit 15 stored in the integer arithmetic memory 11. Accordingly, reading/writing of the intermediate data to an eternal memory which requires a long data transfer time is dispensed with, and the geometric operation can be performed at high speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
