PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet embedded type motor with a reduced cogging torque and back-emf distortion rate and lower vibration and noise, by employing a fixing means of a rotor in which the outer periphery of the rotor is composed of a combination of different circumscribed circles for embedding a permanent magnet and a hole is provided at the end of a slit in the rotor, with a non-magnetic body penetrating the hole. SOLUTION: The permanent magnet embedded type motor comprises a rotor 11 where a permanent magnet 12 is embedded in the rotor 11 comprising a plurality of slit 20. The shape of a single pole section of the rotor is formed with arcs different in radius between a circumscribed circle in a slit region and that near the end of the slit region.
