PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a blow-off wind, generated by a blow-off type snow protection fence, from being a hindrance to the passage of a pedestrian who walks along a sidewalk adjacent to the fence. SOLUTION: A plurality of auxiliary snow protection plates 25, which have a width W' smaller than a width W of a main snow protection plate 24, are provided below the plates 24 at a vertical interval in such an inclined manner that a blowing side is made higher, and the plates 24 are provided at a vertical interval in such an inclined manner that a blowing side is made higher. Not a mere opening but the plates 25 exist below the plates 24. Thus, the action of collecting the wind onto a sidewalk surface is obtained in addition to the action of deadening the wind; the wind serves as a wind which strongly blows to the pedestrian's feet but moderately blows to his/her body; and an overturning moment given to the pedestrian can be made smaller.
