PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine of cylinder head precedence cooling type which can efficiently cool an intake port. SOLUTION: The engine 1 of cylinder head precedence cooling type is provided to supply cooling water (cooling medium) from a head cooling channel 14 formed around the intake port 12 and an exhaust port 13 provided in a cylinder head 3 and to then feed the cooling water to a water jacket (block cooling channel) 8 provided in a cylinder block 2. The engine 1 includes a flow rate regulating member 16 provided near a supply port 15 to which the cooling water flows to the head cooling channel 14 to increase an amount of the cooling water flowing to the exhaust port 13 side in an amount of the cooling water flowing to the intake port 12 side in the head cooling channel 14 as compared with an amount of the cooling water flowing to the exhaust port 13 side.
