PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external composition containing oily particles excellent in stability, having a uniform particle diameter, and excellent in usability, by simple production processes. SOLUTION: This external preparation is given by dispersing the oily particles containing a dextrin fatty acid ester and a liquid oil component in an aqueous phase, wherein the oily particles satisfy the following conditions (1) and (2) as follows: (1) a content of the dextrin fatty acid ester based on the total weight of the oily particles is 5-40 wt%; and (2) an average particle diameter of the oily particles is 0.05-10 mm.
