<p>Shaped article (A) of melamine-formaldehyde foam that has formaldehyde emission below 0.1 ppm, as measured by DIN 556661. Shaped article (A) of melamine-formaldehyde foam that has formaldehyde emission below 0.1 ppm, as measured by DIN 556661, is prepared by: (a) generating a foam from a precondensate having melamine:formaldehyde mole ratio over 0.5; (b) conditioning the foam at below 200[deg]C; and (c) compressing the foam, in a press, at 160-240[deg]C and 5-100 bar (absolute) for 15-120 s. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) method for preparing (A), as described; and (2) melamine-formaldehyde foam with formaldehyde emission below 0.1 ppm, prepared by steps (a) and (b) above.</p> |
