<p>Herbicidal 4-substd. alkylamino-6-chloropyrimidines and their salts Compds of formula: (where R is 1-6C alkyl pref. isopropyl) are prepared by reacting 2-amino 4-alkylamino-6-chloro-pyrimidine with trichloroacetaldehyde in inert solvent at 80-140 degrees C (pref. 100-120 degrees C) for 1/2-2 hours.
