METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECOGNIZING PARTICULAR PORTION OF VEHICLE BY ACCURATELY RECOGNIZING MOVING OBJECTS

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for recognizing a particular portion of a vehicle are provided to enable an accurately recognition of moving objects driving in front of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for recognizing a particular part of a vehicle includes a transceiving unit, a detection unit, an estimation unit, and a recognition unit. The transceiving unit transmits a medium wave to a desired range from the vehicle and receives a reflective wave from the medium wave. The detection unit detects more than one object positioned in the desired range based on the reflective wave. The object forms the reflective wave. The estimation unit estimates possibility that each of the detected objects is detected based on a reflective wave from a first portion of another vehicle other than from a second portion of the vehicle. The recognition unit specifies the second portion as the object to be finally recognized.
