PALM RECOGNIZING METHOD OF A PORTABLE TERMINAL, SPECIALLY IN CONNECTION WITH PERFORMING A PALM READING FUNCTION THROUGH THE TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A palm recognizing method of a portable terminal is provided to detect outlines of the palm while detecting a palm value, and to sense lengths and inclinations of palm lines, then to output palm reading results, thereby carrying out a palm reading function through a terminal. CONSTITUTION: If a 'palm line photographing' function is selected(201), a controller displays a frame of a hand shape(202). If a photograph key is inputted(203), the controller stores photographed palm image data(204). The stored palm image data is converted into a black-and-white image(300), and sharpness of the converted palm image data is improved(400). The controller executes an outline extracting process for palm analysis(500), and carries out a filtering process for removing extra lines except main palm lines(600). The controller performs a binarizing process(700), and makes a structure of a palm image clear(800). The controller extracts a character line, a life line, and a brain line on the palm(900), and performs a palm line interpolating process for obtaining lengths and inclinations of palm lines(1300). The controller outputs palm reading results on a display(1400).
