PURPOSE: A traffic signal system for use in a road is provided to maximally prevent the traffic accident in the cross road by previously notifying the cross road to the drivers. CONSTITUTION: A traffic signal system(500) for use in a road includes a traffic signal controller(550) and a detector(530). The traffic signal controller(550) controls the vehicle traffic signal light(510), the pedestrian traffic signal light(520) and a (LED) traffic display panel(540). The detector(530) is installed on the cross for detecting the passing the pedestrian. If the pedestrian waits the green light in the cross road, the LED traffic display panel(540) displays the standby of the pedestrian. And, if the pedestrian traffic signal light(520) is green, the LED traffic display panel(540) display the traveling of the pedestrian. And also, although the standby of the pedestrian is not detected by the detector(530), the LED traffic display panel(540) displays the cross road located in front of the driver, thereby previously notifying the cross road to the driver.
