COATER, DEVELOPMENT DEVICE HAVING THE COATER, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coater for liquid developer by which the life of a developer carrier can be extended and stable image quality can be obtained and to provide a development device having the coater and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The coater includes: a coating roller 404 which rotates holding a predetermined amount of liquid developer on its surface; an intermediate coating roller 405 which is disposed opposite the coating roller 404 in contact with the surface of the application roller 404 and moves at the same speed as the coating roller in the same direction as the direction of the movement of the coating roller, and which is disposed opposite a development roller 402 in contact with the surface of the development roller 402 and moves in the direction opposite to the direction of the movement of the development roller 402. The coater is provided with a temperature control roller 420 which controls the surface temperature of the intermediate coating roller 405. This hinders an amount of liquid developer to be applied from fluctuating due to fluctuation in the surface temperature of the intermediate coating roller 405. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
