PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the leakage of a lubricant in the structure near a needle plate. SOLUTION: This sewing machine is provided with: a bed section connecting mechanism storage 17 which is disposed in a bed section 11 and stores a connecting mechanism for transmitting the driving force of a lower shaft to at least a looper drive shaft and a cloth feed shaft; a looper/needle plate rocking mechanism storage 19 which stores a looper 64a and a needle plate rocking mechanism 130 for applying a rocking motion to the needle plate; a feed mechanism storage 18 which stores a feed mechanism 110 for converting the driving force outputted from the cloth feed shaft into a prescribed motion and transmitting it to a feed dog; and an absorber 123 which is impregnated with grease and disposed in a way that it can get in contact with sliding members for the feed mechanism within the feed mechanism storage, and the looper, the needle plate rocking mechanism storage and the feed mechanism storage are lubricated with grease.
