SOMNOLENCE DETECTION DEVICE AND INDIVIDUAL AUTHENTICATION DEVICE

A somnolence detection device and an individual authentication device for detecting a driver's somnolence and identifying the driver. The somnolence detection device and the individual authentication device use a somnolence detection method based on a vein pattern image and perform warning to the driver and inside the automobile if the driving is not safe. Moreover, an individual authentication is performed when a driver comes into the automobile and the driver's somnolence measurement result is recorded together with the individual authentication, thereby enabling identification of the driver. Thus, it is possible to assure vehicle safe driving. If an accident should happen, the driver can be identified from the individual authentication result recorded on the storage medium.
