<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overflow weir which is disposed on a treatment tank of a treatment apparatus that treats sewage comprising waste water containing garbage etc. crushed by a disposer or else, even when a large amount of sewage flows into the apparatus at one time, makes it possible to maintain the quantity of treated water discharged from the treatment tank to the outside of the tank constant, eliminates the deterioration of water quality because the discharged treated water is only supernatant water on the uppermost part of the treatment tank or a settlement tank as a final process of the apparatus and suspended material does not flow out, and permits environmental conservation. <P>SOLUTION: The overflow weir is disposed on the settlement tank 4 of the waste water treatment apparatus in which a plurality of treatment tanks are disposed in the advection direction a treatment tank of the final part is the settlement tank 4. A weir main body 1 consists of a flat plate body 25 having an outlet 26 formed on the plate surface and a side wall 23 disposed on the plate body 25 and having an inlet 24 formed on the upper edge for collecting the supernatant water on the uppermost part of the settlement tank 4 from the water surface. A float-controllable float comprising a hollow container 27 having a taking-in/out port 29 on the upper part is disposed on the weir main body 1.
