DRIVING METHOD OF PIEZOELECTRIC ACTUATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method capable of improving the durability of a piezoelectric element built in a piezoelectric actuator.

SOLUTION: In a method of driving a piezoelectric actuator having a piezoelectric element driving telescopically according to the energizing current, a pulse current of a rectangular wave is used as the energizing current, which is energized at a frequency under 61kHz. The piezoelectric element preferably comprises a stacked piezoelectric element formed by stacking a piezoelectric ceramic layer and an inner electrode layer alternately. The piezoelectric element is preferably imparted with a preload acting in a direction contracting the piezoelectric element beforehand.
