<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical memory head reproducing device which reproduces information of large capacity from an optical recording medium and a magneto-optical recording medium by a surface emitting semiconductor laser and its reproducing method. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical memory head reproducing device, a plurality of surface emitting semiconductor laser elements are arranged in a matrix state in a laser element substrate part. Minute holes are formed for each laser element on this substrate part. An injection current is supplied in the extent at which the semiconductor laser element is not excited, light wave is turned toward a recording layer of the optical recording medium from the surface emitting semiconductor laser element, and a plurality of beam spots are formed, and this recording layer is retrieved by that the beam spots plot loci being not overlapped on the recording layer. Laser oscillation of the surface emitting semiconductor laser elements generated by that reflected light from the recording layer are made incident on each of the surface emitting semiconductor laser elements is monitored and information is reproduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
